The five basic principels behind STOTT PILATES are an integral part in balancing the muscles around your joints. Specifically, STOTT PILATES focus on:

Breathing
Pelvic placement
Ribcage placement
Scapula movement
Head and Cervical spine placement

STOTT PILATES focuses on small groups of muscles at a time, creating stronger core strength.

 


STOTT PILATEES is different from resistance weight training because it is three-dimensional. It has emphasis on concentric and eccentric contraction for injury prevention, it emphasizes balancing strength with flexibility, and it leads to an improvement in posture and body awareness. Through private personal training, STOTT PILATES is customizable to suit your specific needs. With STOTT PILATES, you can expect to increase flexibility, mobility, balance and body awareness, with a decrease in back pain and other unexplained muscle aches. If you do 2 or 3 classes week, you should see definite results in as little as a month. This varies; of course, on the body type you have, the amount of classes you do, whether you participate in other physical activities and if you have any existing injuries. But if you commit yourself to a consistent workout schedule, you will see results.
